Qa'a, also known as Qaa, Ka'a, Bieneches, Oubienthis and Vibenthis, was the tenth pharaoh of Early Dynastic Egypt, and the tenth and final pharaoh of the First Dynasty of Egypt. The successor to the previous pharaoh, Semerkhet, Qa'a is theorized to have either usurped Semerkhet or replaced him following his possible abdication. He led a long and prosperous reign compared to his predecessor, although it's said that shortly after his death, Egypt descended into civil war. As is, Qa'a's death brought an end to the First Dynasty, as he either had no children to succeed him or, if he did, they were killed by his intended usurpers or their claims ignored.
