The Kingdom of Upper Egypt, also known as the Upper Egyptian Kingdom, was a state in North Africa. It was bordered by Lower Egypt to the north, the Red Sea to the east and Nubia to the south. Upper Egypt, during its independence, was considered more organized than Lower Egypt, although not much evidence as to the structure of the kingdom exists. It is unknown what the dominant religion was in Upper Egypt, although it was likely to be the polytheistic Ancient Egyptian religion

The Kingdom of Upper Egypt warred with Lower Egypt several times prior to 3200 BCE, where it declared one final war under Narmer to unite the two kingdoms. This campaign was successful, and Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt's kingdoms merged to create a single state.
