Jebel Sahaba, also known as Site 117 and Cemetery 117 respectively, was an ancient cemetery associated with the Qadan culture. Discovered in 1964 by a team led by Fred Wendorf near the northern border of North Sudan. One skeleton was radiocarbon dated to approximately 12340 BCE to 11140 BCE, but newer apatite dates indicate that the site could be dated to 9000 BCE. These dates confirm the association of the site with the Qadan culture, and the site is often cited as the oldest known evidence of warfare.
