Yamato is a province in Shogun: Total War. Located in the southern-central region of Honshu in the southwestern Kansai region, Yamato is a province of moderate economic value, covered in highlands that make it easily defensible but with little land for farms, making it financially unsuitable for agricultural development. In the Sengoku Jidai and 1580 campaigns, it is controlled by the Oda, by the Rebels and Ronin in the 1530 and 1550 campaigns, and in the Mongol Invasion campaign it is controlled by the Hojo. The province is landlocked, so ports cannot be built there. Castles built in this province will be called Nara Castle.
Historically, Yamato is a representation of Yamato Province. Today it is part of the Nara prefecture.
