The Sinai Peninsula, also known as simply the Sinai, is a peninsula in northeast North Africa and southwest Middle East, acting as a landbridge between Africa and Asia. Situated between the Mediterranean Sea to the north, and the Red Sea to the south. Historically, it has been constantly contested by numerous empires who held territories within it, but today, it belongs to Egypt, and is the only part of Egyptian territory situated in Asia.
