Nagato Province

Nagato is a province in Shogun: Total War. Located on the extreme western end of Honshu in the northwestern Chūgoku region, Nagato is a province of minimal economic value, covered in highlands that make it easily defensible but with little land for farms, making it financially unsuitable for agricultural development: the province however does possess natural iron sand deposits, therefore making it an excellent site to build an armoury. In the Sengoku Jidai campaign it is controlled by the Shimazu, by the Rebels and Ronin in the 1530 and 1550 campaigns, the Mori in the 1580 campaign and in the Mongol Invasion campaign it is controlled by the Hojo. The province is along a coastline, making it possible to build a port. Castles built in this province will be called Hagi Castle.

Historically, Nagato is a representation of Nagato Province. Today it is part of the Yamaguchi prefecture.
