Hida is a province in Shogun: Total War. Located in the central region of Honshu in the central Chūbu region, Hida is a province of minimal economic value, covered in highlands that make it easily defensible but with little land for farms, making it financially unsuitable for agricultural development. In the Sengoku Jidai campaign it is controlled by the Uesugi, by the Rebels and Ronin in the 1530 and 1550 campaigns, by the Oda in the 1580 campaign, and in the Mongol Invasion campaign it is controlled by the Hojo. The province is landlocked, so ports cannot be built there. Castles built in this province will be called Takayama Castle.
Historically, Hida is a representation of Hida Province. Today it is part of the Gifu prefecture.
