Echizen Province

Echizen is a province in Shogun: Total War. Located in the central region of Honshu in the northwestern Chūbu region, Echizen is a province of moderate economic value, covered in highlands that make it easily defensible but with little land for farms, making it financially unsuitable for agricultural development. Across all campaigns (including Mongol Invasion), it is controlled by the Rebels and Ronin. The province is along a coastline, making it possible to build a port. Castles built in this province will be called Ichijo Ga Dani Castle.

Historically, Echizen is a representation of Echizen Province. Today it is part of the Fukui prefecture.
