Djoser's expeditions to the Sinai Peninsula, also known as the Egyptian suppression of the Sinai, was a conflict between the Old Kingdom of Egypt under the reign of Djoser, and the unnamed inhabitants of the Sinai Peninsula. Djoser dispatched troops to the Sinai on several military expeditions to suppress and subdue the inhabitants of the region (their designation unknown), both to secure a strategically important buffer zone and to mine for valuable minerals such as turquoise and copper. This also (likely) started future Egyptian activity in the region, with an emphasis on establishing a more permanent military presence.
