Chikugo is a province in Shogun: Total War. Located in the northwest of the island of Kyushu, Chikugo is a province of high economic value, being covered in lowlands and possessing vast, rich soil for farming, with a river running through the middle which provides a number of easily defensible crossing points. In the Sengoku Jidai, it is controlled by the Imagawa, by the Rebels and Ronin in the 1530 and 1550 campaigns, by the Shimazu in the 1580 campaign, and in the Mongol Invasion campaign it is controlled by the Hojo. The province is along a coastline, making it possible to build a port. Castles built in this province will be called Yanagawa Castle.
Historically, Chikugo is a representation of Chikugo Province. Today it is part of the Fukuoka prefecture.
