Awa is a province in Shogun: Total War. Located in the southeast of the island of Shikoku, Awa is a province of minimal economic value, covered in highlands that make it easily defensible but with little land for farms, making it financially unsuitable for agricultural development: it also possesses a river running through it, providing a number of easily defendable crossing points. In the Sengoku Jidai, 1530, 1550 and 1580 campaigns it is controlled by the Rebels and Ronin, and in the Mongol Invasion campaign it is controlled by the Hojo. The province is along a coastline, making it possible to build a port. Castles built in this province will be called Tokushima Castle.
Historically, Awa is a representation of Awa Province. Today it is part of the Tokushima prefecture.
